Chaweng(East Coast)- The bustling heart of tourism. Famous for its long, beautiful beach, extensive shopping, vibrant nightlife, and the widest range of hotels and restaurants. Best for those who wat to be in the center of the action.

Lamai(Southeast)- The second most popular area. Offers a slightly more relaxed atmosphere than Chaweng but still has plenty of restaurants, bars, and a beautiful long beach. A great balanced of choice.

Bophut/ Fisherman’s Village(North)- Known for its charming, converted Chinese shophouses, a more laid-back vibe, and a popular weekly night market. Attracts families and couples.

Maenam & Bang Po(North)- Features long, peaceful beaches ideal for walks and relaxation. The area has a mix of local shops and quieter resorts.

West Coast(Lipa Noi, Taling Ngam)- The most tranquil and remote part of the island. Known for spectacular, serene sunset views over the sea. Perfect for a quiet, luxurious getaway.

Nathon(West Coast)- The island’s administrative capital and main ferry port. Less touristy, it’s where locals shop and work. Offers fantastic sunset views from the pier.

Beyond the beach, Koh Samui is rich with cultural and natural sights:

Cultural landmarks: Visit the iconic Big Buddha Temple(Wat Phra Yai) and the intriguing Hi Ta & Hin Yai(Grandfather & Grandmother rocks) For a unique spiritual sight, see the mummified monk at Wat Khunaram.

Natural Wonders: Explore the jungle interior to find Na Muang Waterfall, or discover the hidden statues and tranquility of the secret Buddha Garden.

Island Hopping: Take a day trip to the stunning Ang Thong National Marine Park, a protected archipelago of limestones islands, or the famous dive sites around Koh Tao.
