Bueng Boraphet- A massive freshwater lake and wetland, famous for birdwatching and seasonal boat tours to see the expansive fields of red lotus flowers. Visitor note: The Bueng Boraphet Aquarium, located by the lake, specialises in showcasing the region’s freshwater fish.
Wat Worarat Banphot- A revered royal monastery nestled in a serene, forested mountain setting. It’s known for its peaceful atmosphere, beautiful golden ordination hall, and panoramic views of the city from the hilltop.
Wat Sri Uthumphon- A highly revered temple in the city, also known as Wat Luang Pho Choy. It is famous for its intricate, colourful stucco architecture and houses the remains of a much loved local monk.
City landmarks and local flavours- Pak Nam Pho: This are is the source of the Chao Phraya River, where the Ping and Nan rivers converge. Visit the new landmark “Pas San” for its distinctive curved architecture and evening light shows. The nearby Dechawongse Bridge is a historic spot for a riverside stroll.
Local food: Don’t miss trying Mochi, a famous local dessert of Nakhon Sawan. The Kluai Khai Market is a great stop for local snacks, souvenirs, and its namesake, small sweet bananas.
